FOUR new releases to kick off the summer!
Michael T. Bullock & Andrew Lafkas: Ceremonies to Breathe Upon
Winds Measure # 18 :: Edition of 300 CDs with letterpress covershttp://www.windsmeasurerecordings.net/
40+ minutes of acoustic contrabass duo, recorded in Troy, NY’s legendary gasholder building. The gasholder has a 17 second reverberation and this recording takes full advantage of those possibilities to create expansive, patient, overwhelming music. You’ll understand why Andrew thought of breathing when he suggested the title.

Linda Aubry Bullock: Ray of Dark
Sedimental Recordings :: sedcd056 :: Edition of 500 CDs http://www.sedimental.com/
Linda’s first full release* is a rich set of dark, brooding meditations in noise, yet inflected with human warmth and sly humor. In addition to her own original pieces, Linda curated a series of contributions to this set from the members of her heavy drone-psych quartet Twilight of the Century: Eric Hardiman, Ray Hare, and me. As an admittedly biased observer (for more than one reason), I couldn’t be more proud. Cover photos by Linda, cover design by me.
*after chloe006: My Heart of Sugar, limited edition CDr with hand-sewn cover + mp3 downloads.
Mike Bullock: Music for Cinema
YDLMIER :: Edition of 40 cassette tapes http://www.grydcomplex.org/ydlmier.html
This release represents some firsts for me: My first contribution to the ongoing (and welcome) cassette tape revival; my first release of solo electronics with no basses involved (Side A); and my first release of music made entirely from field recordings (Side B) - “tape music” composed on computer and released on actual tape.
The BSC: 23% Bicycle and/or Ribbons of the Natural Order

The BSC’s first release since 2003’s Good on Grob Records is now available in FLAC, Apple Lossless, MP3, and OGG formats. The cost is one Tweet, or a “Like” on Facebook.
This is one of my favorite ongoing collaborations. The BSC, an 8 piece ensemble of improvisers founded in Boston, has been playing since 2000 and the music keeps getting deeper, subtler, more nuanced and rewarding.
